French Language Program

At Somerset Academy, our dedicated and qualified teachers instruct standard French. We aim to foster a positive appreciation for French culture and an understanding of the Quebecois influence in our bilingual society. French instruction commences in Senior Kindergarten. In Grade 2, written work is introduced, maintaining a balanced approach between oral and written French.

Adhering to the Ontario Curriculum Guidelines, we establish a strong foundation for our students, enabling them to approach high school French programs with assurance and knowledge.

It is worth noting that Somerset Academy graduates have earned "advanced standing" in high school French programs, a testament to the effectiveness of our curriculum.
